Marco Toapanta Chairs Innovation Workshop at Biocontrol & Biostimulants LATAM 2026

Frontier BioStrategy Managing Director Marco A. Toapanta, Ph.D., chaired the innovation workshop at Biocontrol & Biostimulants LATAM 2026 in Campinas, Brazil, convening researchers, formulators, and commercial leaders around a single question: what stops a validated biological from becoming a product growers reorder.

The science coming out of Brazilian and regional public and private institutions is not the bottleneck in biologicals. Getting it to a grower who will buy it twice is.

That was the through-line of Advancing Innovation: Exploring Novel Technologies, Product Implementation, and Strategic Partnerships in Biologicals, the workshop Marco A. Toapanta, Ph.D., Managing Director at Frontier BioStrategy, chaired at Biocontrol & Biostimulants LATAM 2026 in Campinas, Brazil on 27 July 2026.

The discussions ran through where the technology is heading, emphasizing innovations that deliver value to growers: new active ingredients from a range of sources, effective tools for biotechnological valorization, and advances in formulation technology.

The agenda then turned to the barriers to adoption of innovative products, closing with an interactive and open session on partnerships and collaborations, where participants worked through why good products stall between a validated result and a commercial one. That gap between technical validation and commercial traction is the problem Frontier BioStrategy was built to address, through regulatory architecture, commercial strategy, and product development governance developed together rather than in sequence.

Our thanks to Naomi Brooker and the Informa Connect team, and to every speaker who came ready to discuss the hard part. Biocontrol & Biostimulants LATAM reconvenes next year in Rio de Janeiro.
